Missions

Here at Sidney First United Methodist, we envision every member responding to Jesus’ call in Acts 1:8, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”

Our Missions Department calls on all members and friends to share the intimate, passionate, life-changing experience with Jesus Here, There & Everywhere.

Our members and friends are living out Jesus’ call through prayer and financial support, and by participating in our short-term mission trips to work with our partners.

We believe participation in missions strengthens one’s Spiritual growth, provides educational and personal growth, and serves Jesus in a tangible way.

Our Missions Team is called to equip our members for ongoing service to empower God’s people in mission individually and corporately. While we focus our collective resources in ways that will have a discernable impact, we also encourage grassroots initiatives by individuals and groups in serving where God has planted them.
